About the Fund

Established in 2021, the Joel Brahce Endowment Fund provides a cash award to a current student to attend Pioneer Band Camp. This fund was established by the family of Dr. Joel Brahce in his memory. Joel graduated from Pioneer High School in 1976. He played tuba, was a drum major candidate and soloed at Interlochen. Joel was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in 2014 and passed away in 2016. Though he became a family physician, he had a life-long passion for music. His only request for a memorial was to support high school bands.

The award is open to any current band student in 9th - 11th grade to attend Pioneer Band Camp. Applications are due by March 31 of each year.
