Friends of the Pioneer Bands
If you value and appreciate music as we do, we consider you a friend. We welcome our friends, patrons, and visitors to the home of the Pioneer Bands! Your interest and support is valued and appreciated.
The Pioneer Band Program has been led by a wonderful succession of talented and dedicated directors since 1914. We invite you to learn more about our directors, both current and past. You are invited to contact our current directors with your comments and inquiries about our program.
Our program features four distinct and accomplished performing bands. We invite you to learn more about our ensembles and how they build a foundation for musical excellence in each student. You might be amazed at the scope of activities and events that make our program so successful.
The Pioneer Bands have a rich legacy of outstanding accomplishments. We invite you to read many of the accolades that reflect our heritage of excellence. Never resting on our laurels, we continue to build on this foundation of high achievement.
Naturally, we invite you to attend our upcoming concerts and events. Whether on our home stage in Schreiber Auditorium, or on tour, we delight in performing for our friends and patrons. We often feature student soloists and ensembles, as well as renowned guest soloists and conductors. Our concert program is always a crowd-pleaser. And don’t forget about the fun and pageantry of our marching band at football games in the fall!
While we are part of the Ann Arbor Public Schools and are therefore funded by your tax dollars, we undertake a robust program that exceeds the limitations of the public education budget. We must rely on the extra support made possible by those who contribute their time and resources through the Pioneer Band Association. We encourage you to participate in the various fundraising activities of this active booster club, which holds an annual car wash and candy sale, as well as the concessions and games at our annual Picnic Pops concert. For an elegant and spectacular night out, you can support the bands at our annual Band Gala.
You can also support our program through your tax-deductible donations to the Pioneer Band Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. Your gifts make scholarships, instruments, and special programming possible. We also invite you to consider a gift to the Robert Albritton Scholarship Fund through the Ann Arbor Community Foundation, which supports an annual summer scholarship award for one of our talented musicians.
We hope you will stay connected with all the things that are happening with the Pioneer Bands. Our website is updated regularly. As the program approaches our 100th anniversary in 2013, you may be interested in discovering more about the exciting and ongoing activities of The Centennial Project.
Thank you for visiting our home here on the web. We look forward to seeing you in person at our next concert or event!
