Welcome Band Students and Parents

Welcome Students and Parents! You are the embodiment of the Pioneer Bands! You have inherited an amazing legacy and you are building a foundation for the families that will follow. We are excited about the challenges that lie before you and know that you will rise to meet and exceed everyone's expectations. Please read the special Welcome from Our Directors.

We especially welcome new students and young musicians. You bring incredible talent and vitality to our program. It's never too early to focus on practice and private instruction, as this is one of the cornerstones of our success. We also encourage you to participate in other music enrichment programs that can help you develop as a musician. As you prepare to transition into our band program at Pioneer, we offer an incoming 9th grade orientation to help you learn the ropes and get off to a comfortable beginning.

All band students go through a band registration process in August just before Band Camp at Interlochen. Whether you attend Band Camp or not, you will always find the smaller learning community of the band program a welcoming place and receive a hearty welcome from the directors.

All band parents are encouraged to get actively involved in the Pioneer Band Association. Our mission and bylaws only begin to explain how this booster club provides immeasurable benefits to the bands at Pioneer. Plan to attend meetings and read our newsletters. Show your band spirit by wearing band apparel. More importantly, review our many volunteer opportunities and make a committment to help out.

Perhaps the most amazing aspect of our program is the wide range of activities and events that we undertake. Beginning with our incredible Band Camp in August, the Band Calendar is filled with classroom, performance, social, and fundrasing activities and events. You can also use our Interactive Calendar to follow changes. Truly, there is never a dull moment, and every activity is designed to develop musicianship, build esprit de corps and provide for our program needs.

Also, look for the many resources and forms that are designed to make your involvement in band easier and more rewarding. We hope parents visiting this site will be able to access much of the material that is presented in the classroom or at special enrichment events.
