Performance Activities Overview
The Pioneer Bands perform several concerts each year. In addition, the band ensembles, along with small group ensembles and individuals, participate in various music festivals. A typical year’s performance activities include:
- Marching Band Fridays, Fall Quarter (Symphony and Concert Bands)
- Jazz Band Winter Concert Wednesday in January (Jazz Band)
- District Solo & Ensemble Festival Saturday in January(All Band Students)
- Pioneer Bands Winter Concert Thursday in January (ALL Pioneer Bands/small ensembles)
- Pioneer Band Gala a date in March (Small ensembles from ALL Bands)
- Orchestra Night Thursday in February (Orchestra Winds)
- District Band Festival Saturday in February (Symphony/Concert Bands)
- Bands in Review Saturday in March (ALL Pioneer Bands)
- State Solo & Ensemble Festival Saturday in March (All State S/E Qualified Students)
- Concerto Concert Thursday in March (Wind Soloist(s) with Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Winds)
- Festival Trip/Tour April (Tour Years only)
- Picnic Pops Saturday in May (All Pioneer Bands)
- Jazz Summit Concert Tuesday in May (Jazz Band)
