The Pioneer Bands traditionally tour during even-numbered years, in rotation with the Pioneer Orchestras. Recent Pioneer Band Tours have produced the high level of performances for which the band is known at state, national, and international music festivals and performances.
2024 - Symphony and Jazz Bands traveled to Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia. While in Italy, the bands toured Verona, Trieste, Venice, and Milan. The also visited Ljublijana, Slovenia, and Zagreb, Croatia. They had three amazing performances in Trieste, Italy, in Jesenice, Slovenia, and Lecco, Italy. Concert Bands Purple and White are traveled to Canada where they toured Toronto and Niagara Falls and performed at the Beyond Borders concert with Eastwood Music at Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo ON.
2022 - Symphony and Concert Band Purple traveled to New York City during Spring Break. They performed at Carnegie Hall, visited the 9-11 Memorial and Museum, toured several other locations in the city, attended a performance workshop, attended a performance at Lincoln Center, and saw the musical Hamilton.
2020- Two band tours were scheduled. Symphony and Jazz Bands were scheduled to travel to Germany. The Concert Bands were scheduled to travel to Montreal. These tours had to be canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
2018 - There were two band tours. Symphony and Jazz Bands traveled to Italy, Croatia, and Slovenia, where they presented incredibly powerful performances in Milan, Trieste, and Venice. The Concert Bands traveled to Toronto where they attended a Toronto Symphony Orchestra performance, saw a Broadway show, and won an International Band competition!
2016 - Symphony Band, Concert Band, and Jazz Band traveled to New York City from April 26-May 1, where the bands played at Carnegie Hall, attended performance workshops, and a concert with the New York Philharmonic, and saw the Broadway Musical The King and I.
2014 - there were two Band Tours: In April 2014, the Symphony and Jazz Bands traveled to Central Europe (Hungary, Austria, and the Czech Republic), where they played in a Mini-Festival with two Hungarian Orchestras in Budapest, performed at the Jazz Club Reduta in Prague, and both bands performed at St. Simon & Jude Church, also in Prague. Concert Band traveled to Boston, where they performed in the WorldStrides Heritage Festival, and attended a spectacular performance by the Boston Symphony Orchestra plus a Master Class given by BSO French hornist, Rachel Childers.
2012 - Symphony, Concert, and Jazz Bands traveled to New York City, where they played at Carnegie Hall.
2010 - there were two Band Tours: In April 2010, Symphony Band traveled to China where they played on the Great Wall and in Tianjin. Concert Band played in Cedar Point’s Music in the Parks and earned 1st place for Best Band.
