Each fall, the Pioneer Band Association hosts a picnic for all bands and their families. The picnic is generally held on the first non-U of M football Saturday from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. This is an opportunity for all band families to meet, eat, mingle, play, and celebrate the start of a great year.
This year’s picnic will be held on the Pioneer lawn outside the Band room.
A Welcome Table greets families as they arrive, providing nametags and any up-to-date information that band students and parents need to know. Freshman families and those new to the program are given a special welcome by the experienced volunteers hosting the station. The Picnic Coordinator is responsible for making sure the event goes smoothly. Click here for a list of jobs to be done by the many volunteers who help out on this day.
What is a picnic without delicious food? This year, the PBA will be providing delicious subs from DiBella's!
While the other basics like tableware and condiments are also provided by the Pioneer Band Association, families are asked to bring beverages, salads & vegetables, fresh fruits, and desserts. This results in a wonderful food tent filled with a smorgasbord of good eats.
It's a great way to meet and network with other band families, relax away an afternoon, chat with the directors, or play and have fun!
No matter whether you are a beginning band student, or an experienced band family, plan to join us each year for the Ann Arbor Pioneer High School Band Picnic. Alumni and friends of the band program are always welcome!
The 2015 Band Picnic starts at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 3rd.
