Questions about 'upgrading' instruments often come up during high school. These issues are best explored with your student’s private instructor. Each instrumental upgrade is of varying price so plan for the future playing needs of your student. Do not get rid of any old instrument as your student may use it for marching band. The high quality instruments are used for practices and performances only, not for marching drills. As always, if you have any concerns, contact Mr. Leach.
Pioneer provides the following instruments:
- French Horn
- Marching Cornet (for trumpet and French Horn players during the marching season)
- Bass Clarinet
- Baritone Saxophone
- Tenor Saxophone
- Mellophone (for French Horn players during the marching season).
Students and parents are required to sign an instrument guaranty card for any school instrument used. This generally takes place at Band Registration when the instruments are handed out. Cards are provided at that time.
