The Pioneer Band program was well-represented at the 4th Annual Michigan Music Conference this past weekend (January 22-24, 2009) in Grand Rapids, MI. Performing as members of the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association’s (MSBOA) All-State Orchestra were Saunders Hayes (Flute), Aidan Mase-Kemnitz (French Horn) and Hope Wilson (Trombone); performing as members of the MSBOA All-State Band were Elizabeth Cvercko (French Horn) and Michael Sullivant (Bass Clarinet).
Special Conference commendations are also in order for Pioneer’s “Cobahshi Piano Trio” - Leah Latterner (Piano), Jacob Joyce (Violin), and Ryan King (Clarinet) - members of an elite group of small ensembles selected from “the very best young musicians the State of Michigan has to offer” to perform at MSBOA’s 75th Anniversary Celebration.
